1. Volunteer Opportunity

Restmor is currently looking for volunteers. In alignment with our mission of “Honoring God by serving others,” there are a variety of ways to help, including visiting with residents, assisting with activities, working outside, and other supportive tasks. 2. Wednesday, April 22 – Clothing Drive/Love Packages 6:40 PM at the Fellowship Hall

Clothing Drive: Your donations of good, clean clothing will be taken to the Goodfield HarvestCall facility. The 4th-8th Grade will be working on the collection and sorting. Love Packages: Your used/new religious materials - Bibles, daily devotionals, Christian books/music, reference books, children Bible games, etc., are being collected for an organization called Love Packages, which ships the collected materials all over the world.

3. Saturday, April 25 - ICC/Bradley Young Group Benefit 6 PM at Morton Fellowship Hall Pavilion

All are invited. Please sign-up at the kitchen sign-up table. Dinner, singing and Yard games.

4. Sunday April 26 - LifePoints Gospel Sing 6 PM at Five Points Washington

Doors open at 5:30 PM This year's Gospel Sing will feature the Heritage Gospel Quartet, whose members include Bruce Wuethrich, Kevin Wuethrich, Mark Wuethrich, Brad Neihouser, and Peg Gudeman. We would love for our local churches to join us for an evening of worship across congregations and in support of Apostolic Christian LifePoints.

5. Friday, May 1 - Loving Shepherd Ministries Night 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Tremont Fellowship Hall

6 . Silver Lining Collection

It is time to update our subscription list for The Silver Lining, which is a publication of the ACCA that shares congregational news, national outreach organizations, and provides spiritual teachings. If there is anyone who would like to receive a paper copy of The Silver Lining, and not presently getting it, if you have an address change, or read it online, and no longer want to receive a paper copy, please contact Sis. Annette Tanner. The SL is also available through the AC Central App, and the ACCA website. For donations for The Silver Lining publication, please make your check out to the General Fund with Silver Lining written in the memo line, and put it in the General Fund collection box, or mail to the church with Attn: to Bro. Ryan Graf. The suggested donation for 2026 is $25.

7. Boys/Girls Jr. and Sr. High Camp - June

Below is information regarding the summer camps being held in June. Our youth camps continue to provide a safe environment for healthy relationship building, spiritual growth, and discipleship within our denomination. All Junior High and Senior High students are welcome to attend. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to prayerfully consider serving as cabin leaders or staff. 5. Kingdom Kids Leadership Opportunity

Kingdom Kids is a youth program in our church for the 3yr olds through 3rd grade that meets two Wednesday evenings per month from September through May. Sis Sue Neihouser has provided leadership for Kingdom Kids since its inception approximately 12 years ago and is now desiring to begin the transition process to let someone else take over this role. If you have a love for children, are excited to share the love of Jesus with them, and bring lots of energy each Wednesday evening, we would love to visit with you about this opportunity to impact these young children and build special relationships while we teach Biblical principles through stories, songs, and activities! To learn more about this role, please reach out to Sis Sue or Bro Brad Kaufman who is the leader of E4 Youth Ministries.

7. June 12-14 – Junior High Boys Camp

Attention all college students, fathers, and men in general who just want to have an impact on the next generation of men while having a ton of fun, and all families who have boys who will be just finishing 6th, 7th, and 8th grades!! Registration for campers and counselors is open! Camper Registration Counselor/Staff Registration • All counselors and staff are asked to come for a meeting the night before camp starts on June 11th. This year we have a new deadline to get all staff registered through Harvest Call by May 20th, so don't wait!!

As announced during the afternoon church service Sunday, January 25, the trustees have revised the church constitution and bylaws and are seeking church approval. Due to the nature of these changes, an official membership meeting must occur with voting to take place following the afternoon service on February 8th. A new cycle of the GriefShare program started Monday, January 12. This is a faith based 13-week program designed to help grieving spouses, children and parents navigate the grief journey. It is held at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall Gathering Room from 6:30-8:30pm each Monday evening. For those of you who aren't familiar with the program, you can find information at www.griefshare.org

6. Prayer Email Ministry

One way our church seeks to love and support one another, the wider Church, our community and beyond is through prayer via our Prayer Email Ministry. Prayer emails are sent on an as needed basis when church members and friends have specific requests, as well as to highlight Morton AC Church or ACCA events and needs, crises or disasters in our community and around the world, etc. If you would like to receive these emails or have a prayer request that you would like to share with our church family, please contact Sis Lindsay Funk via call or text (309) 550-6130 or at lafunk93@gmail.com. 3. European Church Building Fund

There is a need to replenish the HarvestCall European Church Building Fund. Over the past several years, numerous requests for repairs to aging facilities have consumed the existing fund. The Balingen and Briedenbach Germany congregations both need larger church buildings due to Ukrainian refugees and additional brethren from other impoverished countries that have settled in Germany. This has created a need to replenish this fund. If you feel moved to support this work, donations may be made through the HarvestCall website or by check designated to the European Church Building Fund.

4. E4 Program Templates

Two forms have been created and are available on the church website under “For Morton Church/E4 Leadership Model.” T he first one is for anyone in the congregation who has a new idea that they would like one of the Ministry Area Teams to consider. The second one is for anyone in the congregation who thinks that a current church program should be modified or discontinued. The Sunday School Christmas Program will be held during the afternoon church service. The students need to be in the Sunday School area by 11:45am. Come and watch our Sunday School as they tell the wonderful story of our Savior’s birth through song and scripture.

2. Sunday, December 7, 4:00pm – Christmas Caroling and Chili Supper

We will meet at church to split into groups for singing at Restmor, Timber Ridge, Parkside, individual homes, etc. If you or someone you know would like to have a group come sing at their home, please contact Sis Alexa Zeller. A Chili Supper will be served at the church after caroling.

3. Christmas Card Boxes & Envelopes

The Christmas card boxes contain a large envelope for every person/family in the Morton church directory. Simply bring your Christmas cards to church and slip them in the envelopes and then check your own envelope periodically and remove the Christmas cards you receive. The large envelopes should remain in the totes.

4. Visiting Opportunities

For many years our Morton church family has given baked goods to the widows and widowers in our congregation, the LifePoints CILAS, and our ministers during the Christmas season. We have also given poinsettia flowers to those in Restmor. In the past, the visiting team has delivered these. Now that we are opening the Visiting Opportunities to the entire church through the sign-up link, we want to give everyone the opportunity to make these Christmas deliveries as well.

For those who sign up, the process will work as follows. On December 12th between 8:30 AM and 10:30AM, you will go to Jane Kieser’s house at 1025 E Jefferson and pick up a group of deliveries to make. Jane will have everything divided into groups with the names and addresses for each delivery in the group. You will pick a group of deliveries and proceed to make the deliveries that day. This is also a great opportunity to spend a few minutes visiting with the recipients as you make the delivery.

If you are new to Morton church and would like to be included in our 2026 church directory, please email your contact information to Sis Dannelle Zeller at info@mortonacchurch.org. If you are currently listed with an email address in the directory, you should have received an email containing a proof of your listing. You simply reply to that email with changes. Those who have graduated from high school or are now in the Young Group should also email info@mortonacchurch.org with information for their own entry. Remember, you can include your married children and their spouses under your listing, and you can list as many phone numbers or emails as needed. Church officers and committees are in the back of the directory. If you are retiring from a position or starting a new one, please update us with that information as well.

2. Requests from the Kitchen Committee

Due to the limited number of coffeemakers over the winter months, we are requesting more individuals sign up to help with the distribution of coffee. We only need 1 person knowledgeable in making the coffee, but they all need a helper. This person would need to come to church by 9:30 am and help by putting lids on coffee pots and putting them out on the individual tables. Please contact Sisters Kathryn Grimm or Wendy Braker if you have any questions. If you are not on the church lunch list to serve church lunch, could you please consider signing up? The more people that are on the list means a longer distance between times that people serve. Each couple/person is currently serving approximately every year and a half. 3 . November 20 and 22 – Annual Turkey Trip and Prep

Our annual turkey trip to Chicago this year will be on Saturday, November 22. On Thursday evening, November 20, we will be packing food boxes at Midwest Food Bank in Morton starting at 5:30 PM. Pizza will be served. All ages are welcome to join us on Saturday starting at 6:15 AM at the church and returning back to the church around 7:30 to 8:00 PM. We will be stopping for pizza on the way home. Congregational Singing: 5:45pm Pulpit Time: 6:00. Five Testimonies (Julie Shafer, Dee Streenz, Kyle Braker, Joel Kaisner, and Katie Grimm)

We will stand and sing a couple verses to a hymn between each testimony. Our goal is be finished around 9:00 pm. Those that can't attend in person can get a link to listen from Sis. Dannelle.

1 . 2026 Directory Photo Sessions – Final Day Sunday, October 5

Today will be the final day for photo sessions for our 2026 church directory. We are using one Sunday School Classroom where the 3yr olds through 3rd graders meet to sing and have Sunday School. For those of you who may not know where this area is, if you walk towards the back of the church through the doors marked Sunday School, the area is straight ahead. Sisters Tami Leman and/or Ashley Aberle will be there with instructions.

This is also a good time to update your directory information, so if you are new to Morton church, a high school graduate, or need to make changes, please let Sisters Tami or Ashley know. If you are currently listed with an email address in the directory, you will also receive a request for changes in early October. You do not have to sign up, just show up, as we expect this to go pretty quicky. Our photographers are only taking a couple of snap shots per family for the directory.

Join us for an evening of pizza and singing at the Fellowship Hall. Please note the new location. Same time, same food, at the Fellowship Hall! 1. Wednesday, September 17 – Kingdom Kids Begins

We look forward to another exciting year of Kingdom Kids, learning more about Jesus for 3 years old – Third Grade. If you know of any visitors or if you have grandchildren that would like to come. Please talk to Sisters Sue Neihouser or Cindi Witzig (Phil). Kingdom Kids meets on two Wednesday nights a month and begins at 6:50pm for early arrival activities, singing starts at 7:00pm and we conclude at 8:10pm.

God designed families to be a place where two loving parents raise their children in the nurture and fear of the Lord. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case. Brothers Jon and Will Zeller are going to share about their upbringing, and especially about their mother who was a powerful prayer warrior who refused to let Satan take over her home and boys’ lives. As always, tweens & teens are especially encouraged to attend.

Overflow parking will be available at The Parkside. The Restmor bus will begin a shuttle at 5:45 pm transporting visitors from The Parkside to Restmor’s front door. 4. Resource Center Information

The Resource Room provides Bibles for all ages, Bible studies, and various books about marriage, parenting, evangelism, and apologetics, and the Christian life. These resources are free for anyone who needs them or anyone looking to share a Bible or resource with someone in need. As always, all are welcome to browse the Resource Room at any time. New materials have recently been added to the Parenting section including:

• Over the past six weeks, we featured each of the six Ministry Areas, including their responsibility and their leadership.

• During this time, we’ve added a new member to two of the teams:

o Sis. Diane Wuthrich has been added to the INREACH/Youth Ministries Ministry Area Team

o Sis. Sue Neihouser has been added to the UPREACH/Worship Ministry Area Team

• As a reminder, if you have an interest in volunteering in a particular ministry or have an idea to improve a ministry, please reach out to the Ministry Area Lead or someone on their Ministry Area Team.

• In the meantime, the Leadership Council has met two times and will be meeting again in late August. Some highlights so far include:

o Each of the six Ministry Area Teams has held at least one meeting and some have met a couple of times o The focus on each team has been to better understand their Ministry Area’s charge and to begin to define roles for their respective leadership teams (like meeting coordination, note-taking, etc.)

o The first assignment for each team has been to create an inventory of activities/services/events and volunteers that are currently in place

o A number of new initiatives or “shared” responsibilities have been discussed and are being assigned to the appropriate Ministry Area to investigate/evaluate

• We are excited with the progress made to-date and are pleased that we have members of our church family willing to step into these key leadership roles. Please remain prayerful for wisdom and discernment as we adopt this new leadership structure.

The theme this year is “A Jet Through Revelation” It will be held in the church sanctuary from 7:00pm-8:30pm for the Bible Class through adults. All are welcome. Please be prayerful for the ministers, the singing groups and our Morton Church. The list of speakers and singing groups for each night and their contact information will be sent out by email with weekly announcements.

4. Gateway Woods Auction Items Needed

Please consider generously donating items for the Gateway Woods auction. If you have a vacation home, consider donating a couple night’s stay as this is a popular big-ticket item. There will also be a link to an Amazon wishlist that will be going out via email to help aid in donation ideas. Please deliver your items to Bro Nathaniel and Sis Tressa Leman by July 16. The Gateway Woods auction will be Saturday, August 2. Online auction bidding begins at 8 am, Wednesday, July 30.

• The E4 abbreviation for our new shared church leadership model comes from the Ephesians 4 message to the early church to: Edify, Equip, Empower, and Evangelize.

• Please note that a visual of the new E4 Leadership Structure is on display near the Information Center, featuring the members of the E4 Leadership Council.

• Over the past month, we have been featuring each of the six Ministry Areas. The first two weeks highlighted the two UPREACH Ministry Areas – Worship and Spiritual Growth. Over the last three weeks, we covered the three INREACH Ministry Areas – Discipleship, Youth Ministries, and Church Family.

• OUTREACH is focused on our horizontal relationship outside our church family, especially our local community, but also extending into national and global opportunities to share the gospel and serve others.

o The OUTREACH Ministry Area Team will be led by Bro. Billy Daniel, with Bro. Kent Levy serving as the Minister Liaison.

o Members of the team include: Brothers Michael Leman, Daniel Martin, Todd Stoller, and Adam Streenz; Sisters Tami Leman, Savannah Sauder, and Anna Streenz

o The charge for this team is to facilitate sharing the gospel and representing our church in our local community and on a broader scale to the world with the following primary responsibilities: Local Community Engagement, Welcoming Committee/Church Visitor Experience/Resource Room, Prison and Other Local Ministries (e.g., Restmor), Morton Church Missionaries, World Outreach and Local/World Bible Distribution, ACCA Agency Connection (ACCFS/Gateway Woods/HarvestCall/LifePoints), Philanthropy/Charity Fund/Mission Trips

This year’s seniors are Avery Braker, Macy Hartter, Joel Kaisner, Beau Kaufmann, Miles Leman, Joshua Sauder, and Rylen Tanner.

6. Prayer Request for the AC HarvestCall Mission Trip to the Jamaica Deaf Village May 30-June 7

Bro Ted Hirstein will assist in leading a work team that includes Landon Dietrich and Preston Matlock from our Morton church family. The team consists of 50 brethren and friends from 18 of our church congregations across the land. They sincerely request your prayerful support as they serve the deaf in Jamaica with the love of Christ. Thank you for your prayers.

7. Sign up for Discipleship Groups by Sunday, June 1

It is time to sign up for the new 2025 Discipleship groups. We completed our first year and were thrilled with the turnout of men and women who participated. We pray that it was a growing experience for all who participated and that all will participate again this year. Discipleship Groups are an opportunity for our church body to build a deeper relationship with one another in our pursuit of living like Jesus. It is an opportunity to invest in multi-generational men’s and women’s small groups for a year, to get to know one another on a deeper relational and spiritual level, to help build each other up and equip one another to go out and be Jesus to the world. It is time to update our subscription list for The Silver Lining. If there is anyone who would like to receive a paper copy of The Silver Lining, and not presently getting it, if you have an address change, or read it online, and no longer want to receive a paper copy, please contact Sis. Due to the Fellowship Hall remodeling, the clothing drive/love packages collection will be at the Church. The 4th-8th Grade will be working on the collection and sorting. Clothing Drive: Your donations of good, clean clothing will be taken to the Goodfield HarvestCall facility. Love Packages: Your used/new religious materials - Bibles, daily devotionals, Christian books/music, reference books, children Bible games, etc., are being collected for an organization called Love Packages, which ships the collected materials all over the world.

4. Fellowship Hall Remodel

The fellowship hall remodel will begin on Friday, April 4th continuing through the end of May. Anyone who is interested in any of the plants or the furniture inside, is welcome to stop at the fellowship hall on Saturday April 5th at 10:00 AM. If more than one person is interested in an item, names will be put in a basket and drawn. Everything must be hauled away by Saturday afternoon. Anything that is left will be donated or discarded. If you are interested in volunteering, there is a sign-up sheet at the information center. Jobs include moving furniture out, tearing out carpet, removing trim, packing away chairs & tables, moving kitchen equipment, and general cleanup of all work areas. It is once again time to update our subscription list for The Silver Lining which is a publication of the ACCA that shares our congregational news, informs about national outreach organizations, and provides spiritual teachings. The Silver Lining is available through the AC Central App, the ACCA website, and paper copies through the US mail. If there is anyone who would like to receive a paper copy of The Silver Lining, who is not presently getting it, or if you have an address change, please contact Sis. Annette Tanner. For those choosing to read it online, and no longer want to receive a paper copy, please contact Sis. Annette so she can take your name off the subscription list. For those donating for The Silver Lining publication, please make your check out to the General Fund with Silver Lining written in the memo line, and put it in the General Fund collection box, or mail to the church with Attn: to Bro. After many years of faithful service, Bro. Doug Getz is retiring from the Cemetery Administrator role. We are seeking candidates for this position who are available, dependable, and compassionate as well as being willing to perform this duty long-term. The administrator is responsible for maintaining burial records, coordinating burial arrangements, selling graves, and other similar duties. ACCFS will be hosting its 2025 Perfecting Love | Discipleship Conference on March 15th in Bluffton North, IN. This year's theme, Elements of Discipleship, is focused on helping attendees consider components needed for discipleship to flourish in their local church communities. We look forward to a time of learning, encouragement, and fellowship. 1 .Christmas cards for church family

Starting this Sunday, November 24th, there will be totes located on the benches under the mirrors between the women's coat rack and the women's restroom. The totes will contain a large envelope for every person/family in the Morton church directory. You may bring your Christmas cards to church and slip them in the envelopes. Please check your own envelope periodically and remove the Christmas cards. The large envelopes should remain in the totes. Any Christmas cards remaining in the envelopes at the beginning of January will be delivered to the proper recipients. Contact Sis Cindi Witzig (Phil) with any questions. We hope that this will be a blessing for our church family and save us all a bit on postage!

6. Update on Our Church Discipleship Groups

Currently, there are 6 women’s groups and 4 men’s groups for a total of 72 people, each group has met at least once if not twice or more. Some are doing activities together, others doing topical discussions, etc., but each group is enjoying the variety of stages that the mixed ages bring. Although the groups are already set for this year, please reach out to Sisters Tressa Leman, Sabrina Zeller, Angie Schick or Clair Huette if you would like more information and to get on a list to sign up for a Discipleship group that will start July of next year. In the meantime, we encourage you to grow in your life of discipleship, a personal walk with Jesus where we bring all our life into alignment with the way of Christ and encourage others to do the same, by listening to the Discipleship Conference talks on AC Central and reading the attachments with this email.

If you are…. new to Morton Church, got married, had a baby, graduated and want a picture separate from your family, or missed getting your picture taken in 2023. If these categories do not include you, please wait until next year (2025) to update your photo for the 2026 directory when everyone’s pictures will be re-taken. We will be using a Sunday School Classroom where the 3yr olds through 3 graders meet to sing and have Sunday School. For those of you who may not know where this area is, if you walk towards the back of the church through the doors (Marked Sunday School over doors), the area is straight ahead. Someone will be there to give you instructions. You do not have to sign up, just show up, as we expect this to go pretty quickly. Our photographers are only taking a couple of snap shots per family. This is the only Sunday for updates.

The purpose of the conference is to raise awareness of what apologetics is, why it matters, and introduce major apologetic questions. The first four conferences, with themes of “Introduction to Apologetics”, “Reliability of the Scriptures”, “Who is God?”, and “Does God Matter?” were well received by attendees and have promoted these topics within our denomination. This year's theme is "I’m Glad You Asked: How Good Questions Turn Doubt to Faith". All of us have questions, from a simple curiosity to deeper struggles to understand the world around us. The secular world is providing answers; often without dialog, compassion, or a consideration of Biblical perspectives. 1 . Meal Committee Format Change

The Chairs and Co-Chairs of the two Meal Committees are changing the format for how the meal committees will work in the future effective August 1.

While the leadership of the two committees will remain in place to organize meal activities, all the ladies in church who serve on one of the meal committees will now participate in one large group instead of two separate committees. This change should help streamline the volunteer coordination process.

On Wednesday evening, May 22nd, we will share a draft model with the church regarding a potential new leadership structure that we are proposing as one of the key catalysts to help us become a more vibrant church. On Saturday, June 1st, as part of our Church Family Weekend, the Morton Church Ministers will review some of the highlights of the newly proposed structure and then use some time to engage the church in a workshop format to dialogue and provide input to the process. We are seeking to engage the entire church body in this process: young and old, men and women, married and single. We will also review the timetable for more church engagement in the project as we move through the summer months and into the fall. Please plan to attend this important workshop environment to better understand the new leadership direction and to begin to dialogue and provide input to make it better as we seek to edify, equip, and empower the church to share Christ with the lost.

1. Sign up for Wednesday Night Summer Bible Study – Prayer by Sunday May 19

Prayer Bible Study Books in Resource room, Listen in the sanctuary, no sign-up required. Small groups will meet in Sunday School area – sign up and we will put you in a group. Willing to Serve, sign up for Tuesday Night Bible Study at Andrew & Sandy’s and then babysit on Wednesday night. Childcare will be available from 6:50-8:20pm at FH each Wednesday night of the study.

2. Sign up for Discipleship Groups by Sunday, May 26

Please review the FAQ sheet and Committee Contact Sheet for the Discipleship Groups that is attached with the weekly announcements. Please click on the link below and fill out the information to sign up to join a discipleship group. We welcome everyone to sign up, men and women included.

There will also be a paper sign-up on the information center for people who would prefer to sign up in person, however, we encourage online sign up if possible. As we seek to more effectively fulfill our mission as a congregation, one of the keys is broader utilization of the gifts and talents represented by our Morton Church Family. To that end, the Minister Team has been evaluating and considering potential leadership structures that would engage more of the church in leadership roles that fit their skill sets and passions. Bro. Ken Rinkenberger has been asked to assist with this effort. On Wednesday May 22nd, Bros. Ted Jr. and Ken will share a draft model that we have developed that more clearly defines our church’s Ministry Areas and a potential leadership structure that will help us become more effective in optimizing opportunities. Bro Todd Sauder will have the topic for the High School Seniors. There will be a reception with a light snack immediately following the afternoon service and to give everyone the opportunity to meet the seniors. This year’s seniors are Tali Heinold, Preston Matlock and Gage Stoller

4. Sunday, April 28 – Communion at Restmor at 2 pm – Limited

Due to capacity restrictions this service will not be open as a general “make-up” date. Immediate family members of Restmor residents will be able to attend to support their resident. We will also try to accommodate other seniors that are not able to attend Communion at church. Contact Jeremiah Psinas at Restmor so they can plan accordingly.
